About Us

Worthington Photography is a family-owned studio, founded in Castro Valley almost 30 years ago by the late, Lawrence J. Worthington. Larry was an artist, world traveler, and educator by career, whose passion for photography and love for people and the community blossomed into a thriving portrait business. Larry believed the portrait session should be captured artistically – never rushed, individually planned, and carried out to perfection, a standard he has passed on to his children, who share his vision.

Wade Worthington and Wanda Worthington Kersey are the studio’s second-generation photographers. Both with a lifetime of experience in the family studio, have also studied under the most highly respected photographers in the country. Their appreciation for families and children, along with the experience of raising their own families has earned them respect as experts in the area of children’s portraiture.

Both photographers are skilled at designing portrait sessions, whether it be selecting the right outdoor location to reflect a family’s lifestyle or shaping a unique studio shoot to create an image that portrays one’s personality. Wade and Wanda reserve ample time for each portrait session to generate their own creativity and ensure each person’s comfort and natural expressions.

As the studio has grown and progressed over the years, Carol Worthington has been behind its success from the beginning. Co-founder and grandmother extraordinaire, Carol knows what her clients want and is skilled with the experience of an accomplished studio that keeps it top notch.
